My postpartum recovery wasn’t instant or easy, after a traumatic birth combined with the natural delivery of a 10lb baby, the term “bouncing back” doesn’t really spring to mind!

In saying that, I feel stronger now than I ever have in my life, more appreciative of what I have and SO grateful for Pilates and how truly resilient and strong I was/am!

This blog is all about my postpartum experience over the last 6 months, the road to recovery and my relationship with my body after the life-altering experience that is birth!

This is one of my all-time favourite reformer routines for improving posture, increasing the strength of the back, chest, triceps and biceps! These exercises are amazing for improving shoulder stability and giving the arms beautiful definition and tone! I personally used this routine after the birth of my baby Olivia to increase core and upper body strength, sculpt the arms and keep back pain at bay!

 I read a quote this week that really resonated with me: "A tree that refuses water and sunlight for itself can't bear fruit for others."  Self-care isn't selfish, it's imperative for everyone, especially when you are not only responsible for your own health and happiness, but another little person's too! It's essential that we practice self care for not only our own wellbeing, but also because any effort you put into yourself will benefit your little ones. When you fill your cup, you have more patience, energy, vitality and happiness to spread to those around you.

Here are a few quick, easy self care ideas and tips to help you strengthen relationships, be compassionate toward yourself, and renew energy!
