Once you start working out from home, you’ll never look back! In 2020, a lot of us have been giving home workouts a try for the first time and discovering how convenient, affordable and effective they truly are!

Home workouts are just as effective as the gym, if not more, while also saving you commute time, making it much more simple, time-saving and accessible! Our online workout videos are the ultimate way to get you into peak condition in the most efficient and effective way possible, all without leaving the living room!

Here are my top tips for making that home workout experience the best possible. 

Find A Workout That Is Right for You

Certain days call for certain workouts. Just as if you are going to the gym, or working out outside, it’s important to think about what you are trying to achieve. Do you want to work on your core? Are you looking to boost your metabolism? Do you want a short workout? Or a full-body comprehensive workout?

Decide what it is you are looking for, then pick the relevant video! We now have over 600 workouts with new ones added every week. You can do a quick 10-minute blast or a complete body 60-minute session, focus on your abs, your butt, flexibility…the options are endless!

Create The Space

Find the perfect space in your home. For me, it’s my living room. I have my mat all set out along with my other equipment, right next to Olivia’s playmat!

I have also done workouts in my office whilst watching the laptop or iPad. I love working out in both areas, it’s comfortable, safe, private and when I finish my workout I don’t have to go get in the car and drive anywhere…I’m right where I want to be!

This is also great If your work 9-5 and can’t find the time to go to the gym before work, the gym is right there in the next room!

  

 

Start With Just 10 Minutes

Sometimes you have half an hour, sometimes you only have 10 minutes to spare. And yes…you CAN get an amazing workout in just 10 minutes!

A short workout is better than no workout at all, and just 10 minutes a day adds up to over an hour of exercise every single week!

It's all about focusing on one step at a time. Set your alarm half an hour earlier than usual, then before you do anything else, roll out your Pilates mat.

You don't have to lay on it or start exercising immediately, but having it set out is sometimes the biggest hurdle! 

I do this myself, by then I'm too awake to go back to bed, so I just get dressed into my workout gear, still reminding myself I don't HAVE to exercise. By this stage I'm ready, the mat is out...so it would be silly not to just do a 10-minute session right?

Next thing I know, I’ve done the 10 minutes PLUS an extra workout from the schedule and I'm feeling ready to take on the day! You would think this mind trick would start to get old, but it has never failed me!

Schedule Your Workouts

Open up your weekly workout schedule the online studio every Monday and commit to your designated workouts!

Schedule it into your day like you would a business meeting and tell yourself you won’t miss that meeting…even if you have to move the time slot!

For me at the moment, 5 am workouts are in my schedule for the week ahead. I know with my baby daughter’s current routine that is going to work best for me and allow me some uninterrupted workout time…but that could all change by tomorrow! Get the Right Gear, Improvise for Equipment You Don’t Have

The majority of our online workouts are bodyweight classes that require no equipment at all and are incredibly effective and provide so much variety! Adding equipment, however, can help you target specific areas and help you to progress and get stronger.

My top two recommendations are a resistance band and a booty band. These two pieces of equipment will add options to your workouts and they are so much fun too!

If you don’t have equipment, you can always improvise! For example, if you don’t have hand weights, two cans of soup or water bottles are a great alternative. No equipment at all? No problem! ALL of our workouts can be done with or without equipment, they are still very challenging and effective!
